He highlighted the importance of awards like this as markers of societal progress and shared his experiences representing young LGBTQIA+ individuals, particularly young trans women.

Sean emphasized his commitment to using his platform to advocate for the human rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals, pledging to continue dedicating his career to furthering their cause. He shared his involvement with the Caravan of Hope, an initiative led by Angela Giampolo, which provides grassroots legal advice to LGBTQIA+ individuals across the country during Pride month. Sean urged others to support and contribute to initiatives like the Caravan of Hope to expand its reach and impact.

In closing, Sean underscored the importance of visibility and advocacy in combating the challenges faced by the transgender community, citing alarming statistics on poverty, suicide rates, and violence. He called upon fellow lawyers and advocates to continue being voices for justice and equality, pledging to fight alongside them well beyond the confines of this year.
